We have launched a program called “Living Stipends for Palestine” to provide six-months grants (aiming for 3000USD per grant) to Palestinian professional artists directly affected by the current crisis. The need is immense and the scale of the support we will be able to provide is contingent on raising more funds; we are therefore sending out this call for donations. The program has already been set up, and the grantees will be determined based on a process of nomination by peers, and the grant will be disbursed in one installment and is provided in order to help cover personal costs and professional work expenses. The names of the grant recipients will be kept confidential.
In wars, everyday stories and struggles are lost in the face of the magnitude of the tragedy, and only that which is obvious and colossal is brought to light. In response to the ongoing war on Palestine and its impact on personal situations, we are attempting to support Palestinian artists in the various territories of Palestine and the region whose livelihoods have been directly affected, some of whom have lost their jobs, homes, and even loved ones, while work and production opportunities have dwindled, limiting access to a viable income. We know that some support will not cancel the devastation, but it may offer some consolation or remedy.
Under usual circumstances, we do not solicit funds from individuals; however, the dire situation and the highly polarized global atmosphere have led us to reach out directly to you, those in our community who would like to contribute to supporting Palestinian artists through this program.
Donations can be made in Euro via PayPal to office@mophradat.org, or via bank transfer in Euro or USD to our account listed below, indicating “Donation” in the reference. For donations from the US, please be aware that Mophradat is certified equivalent to US charities, which allow tax deductions.
