Mophradat has partnered with Cove Park in Scotland to provide a residency for a visual artist from the Arab world to spend focused time working on a project or researching new ideas. The residency will take place in October 2023, and is for those interested in being in a rural location as part of a small resident artists community. Exact dates will be confirmed depending on the resident’s availabilities.
The invited resident will be housed in a private, fully equipped, and self-contained accommodation unit on Cove Park’s site, and will be offered workspace in an adjacent private studio. They will also have access to a communal space which houses the library, an open-plan kitchen and dining area, meeting rooms, workspaces, and laundry. Mophradat will provide the selected resident with economy return airfares, local transport to the site, per diems for the duration of the residency, and will reimburse visa costs. Cove Park will facilitate exchange, discussion, and collaboration by offering opportunities to meet with other resident artists, and to participate in informal peer-to-peer events, dinners, talks, studio visits, and screenings. Meetings with other cultural organizations and artists across Scotland can be organized when/if relevant.
Cove Park is an international artists residency center located on a 50-acre site overlooking Loch Long on Scotland’s west coast. Cove Park aims to support those who wish to work within and contribute to a community of residents, and to benefit from the experience of working alongside individuals and collaborators engaged in a wide range of specialisms.
