Following an open call in 2024, Lebanese choreographer and dancer Nadim Bahsoun has been invited for the residency at BUDA Kunstcentrum in Kortrijk, Belgium. Nadim’s project was chosen from a competitive pool of more than 80 applications, and will premiere at the 2025 edition of NEXT Festival.
Nadim Bahsoun (b. 1986, Lebanon) will be in residence to finalize his project titled C!S-TEM ERROR: The H in my name is not silent, an immersive performance that includes dancing, singing, and storytelling. Nadim invites the audience to a sensorial experience he associates with teachings passed on to him by his grandmother, Ãmina. The performance explores questions around the sense of security, violence, displacement, home, and territory. The work simultaneously celebrates the legacy of resilience and Nadim’s own family, especially Ãmina with her shrewd entrepreneurship and defiance of colonial forces.
